Senyora Catellina Gomes de Godoy - Creating a 14th Century Persona

Dressmaking

Here are two sketches of dresses that I did from pictures.

One is a mid-14th century girdle, cotehardie, and surcote. The picture comes from a book and is titled "Mary, Duchess of Brittany".

The next picture includes a kirtle and a cotehardie. Also from a book - the picture is from a miniture painting c. 1380 called "St. Ursula and Companions" and it hangs in the Bibliotheque Nat in Paris.

You can see the original picture of this dress on the Cotehardie page.

The fuller skirt is characteristic of the later 14th century.

The deep blue is the cotehardie.

You can see the leather girdle under the surcote.

The embrodiery on the top of the surcote is my own invention. I hope to put chain links from the Lariz Coat of Arms there.

My Children

Here I might write about my children. I will write when they were born and what grade they are currently in. I will also mention some the teams and organizations they are involved with.

Other Relatives

Here I might talk about other people in my family, or include a picture of all of us together at some special event.
